Here’s a better look at what sets our BCAA bulk supplements apart.

What are BCAAs?

BCAAs are also known as Branch Chain Amino Acids. They get their name because of the fact that, when examined under a microscope, their molecular structure resembles that of tree branches. In the human body, there are 20 unique amino acids that are responsible for thousands of proteins located within the body. Out of these 20, 9 are what are known as ‘essential amino acids’. Essential amino acids are aminos which the body needs, but it cannot naturally produce by itself. So, if we need them but can’t produce them, how do we get them? Well, we have to get them in dietary and supplement form. The remaining 11 amino acids are non-essential, as the human body is able to naturally synthesize them. From the 9 essential amino acids however, 3 are BCAAs. BCAAs consist of: Leucine, valine, and Isoleucine. Our BCAAs are available in powdered form, and can simply be combined with water, or your beverage of choice, and sipped on to help you in numerous ways. BCAAs assist with muscle growth and repair, they increase rates of recovery after training, and they help to maintain high levels of energy. To ensure you don’t run out anytime soon, we now offer our patented BCAAs in a handy 2kg bulk bag, which will keep you stocked up for several months.

How do they work?

BCAAs work in a number of ways when it comes to exercise and health and fitness in general. BCAAs, as mentioned, are made of three amino acids. These amino acids are just one small piece of the puzzle when it comes to protein structures in the body. Protein plays a key role in the development and growth of muscle tissue, but protein goes way beyond that. The proteins in the body play vital structural roles in the human body and help form things such as skin, hair, and the nails too. When we exercise, our muscles use a form of energy created via the body known as glycogen. Once glycogen stores are depleted, cells in the muscle have no energy, and so they cannot function. This means that the muscles cannot function. If Glycogen stores run low quickly, this means that your workout will suffer, and you won’t be as productive when training. BCAAs step in and are utilized for fuel instead of the glycogen. Not only do BCAAs provide energy, they also help to speed up protein synthesis, which means that they improve muscle growth and repair. So, by supplementing with BCAAS, not only will you have more energy, your muscles will also recover faster, and more efficiently, and you will become bigger and stronger.

Key advantages of BCAA supplements

Some of the main advantages of BCAA supplements include:

Improved workouts

One of the best things about our BCAA supplements is that they promote better workouts and increase productivity in the gym. You see, BCAAs enter into a competition with tryptophan, which is another amino acid, to enter the brain. When tryptophan enters the brain, it is converted into a neurotransmitter known as serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical that causes us to feel sleepy and relaxed, and it is what helps us to sleep at night. Generally, this is a good thing, but not when you are working out. When you exercise, you want to feel awake, alert, and energized. BCAAs help to reduce the amount of tryptophan entering the brain during a workout, so you therefore have more mental and physical energy.

Increased muscle mass

BCAAs help to stimulate protein synthesis. This is a natural process where the body synthesizes brand new muscle proteins to replace the old, worn, and damaged proteins caused by intense training in the gym. In particular, leucine has been found to be very beneficial for stimulating protein synthesis. The greater the levels of protein synthesis, the greater the amounts of muscle you will be able to build.

More energy

Not only do BCAAs assist with muscle growth and repair, they also help to boost energy levels. As mentioned, when glycogen stores in muscle cells run out, the body needs an alternative source of energy. It gets this alternative energy from BCAAs. This is why BCAAs are best sipped on during your workout, to help keep energy levels high and consistently high, which in turn will ensure that you get more done during your workouts.

Preserves muscle

Not only do BCAAs help build muscle, they also help to preserve existing muscle, by preventing muscle protein breakdown rates. They are able to achieve this by reducing the activity of protein breakdown pathways in the body, and by reducing the overall amounts of mRNA from genes codes that are responsible for causing the degradation of protein tissues. It sounds complex, but take it from us, BCAAs will help you to preserve existing muscle tissue, while adding to it in the process, so no muscle catabolism can set in, which would result in muscle wastage.
